London Business School classes reunite

Half a century of stories come alive on campus.

Reunion brought together more than 1,000 alumni to enjoy a packed programme on a sunny June weekend. Alongside faculty sessions, there were plenty of opportunities to reconnect. Festivities began on Friday evening with Sundowners at the Brewery, followed by 30 dedicated Class Celebrations across London on Saturday night. The weekend wrapped up with the much-loved Sunday Garden Party on the Front Lawn.

Alumni celebrated enduring friendships and the lasting impact of an LBS education, including the ‘Pioneers’ – members of classes that graduated 45+ years ago – who met on Friday morning for breakfast to reminisce and meet with current students.

Several classes made gifts in honour of former classmates, such as MBA1996 in memory of their classmates Juergen, Norman and Rachelle – whose warmth, humour and spirit remain an important part of their story.

Twenty-five years ago, MSc09(1976) set up an endowed MBA scholarship, which has supported 12 scholars to date. This year, at their 50th Reunion, they raised funds to top up the endowment, which now stands at over £1.1 million. They are the first class in LBS history to raise this kind of sum towards an endowed scholarship.

MiFPT2011 topped the Reunion leaderboard for participation, with 36% of classmates making a gift at their 15th reunion, ensuring that future MiF students can access the same academic rigour and deep understanding of finance through scholarships. They now equal the highest MiF participation at Reunion set by MiFPT2003 (in 2008) and MiFFT1997 (in 2017).

A record 351 alumni chose to mark their milestone anniversary by making a gift to further the School’s impact, raising more than £1.9 million. If you would like to join them, you can make your gift today.
