Garfield Weston Foundation has made a £250,000 grant to support the redevelopment of the Plowden Building on LBS’s Sussex Place campus, its first grant to the School since 1998; this generous contribution is a strong reflection of the confidence they have in the School’s ambitions and a clear demonstration of the robust relationships we are building with Trusts and Foundations.

Garfield Weston Foundation was motivated to support the redevelopment as it is not merely an aesthetic upgrade, but a strategic investment in the future of business education. A more cohesive and dynamic space will enhance our ability to attract top talent, provide students and staff with cutting-edge facilities, and reflect the innovative, forward-thinking ethos that defines our School. By reinvigorating this historic building, we can ensure that it truly embodies the values and vision of LBS, aligning our physical environment with our global impact and reputation.

This generous gift is the first contribution towards the Plowden Building’s redevelopment, and we are focused on attracting additional funders for the project, ensuring the redevelopment aligns with the School’s mission of delivering world-class education and fostering an inclusive, diverse learning environment. Within the building will be housed key support facilities, including the Career Centre and Student Wellbeing.
