Alumni-led Treeapp plants over six million trees
The award-winning B Corp’s feat could fill 8,700 football pitches
Treeapp has achieved something phenomenal: planting more than 6 million trees across 20 countries. This scale of reforestation makes Treeapp one of the UK’s most significant drivers of global climate action. In fact, the business has just been awarded a B Impact Score of 123.8, with 80+ required for B Corp verification.
Treeapp is an award-winning B Corp tree-planting organisation, founded by London Business School alumni Jules Buker and Godefroy Harito (both MiM2018). Out of hundreds of millions of companies worldwide, only about 10,000 hold B Corp certification.
The achievement, in numbers:
– 6,000,000+ trees planted across 20 countries
– 654,000 tonnes CO₂ estimated absorbed over their lifetimes
– 60,000 fair-wage workdays generated worldwide
– 4,002 hectares reforested
“Raising our B Impact Score to 123.8 is a milestone – but what really excites us is the signal it sends: that we are structurally resilient, deeply accountable, and ready for the next era of B Corp. As the standards tighten, we don’t just comply, we lead,” say Jules and Godefroy.
Treeapp continues to structure every planting initiative around relevant UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – merging social, ecological and economic priorities in each local site.
They don’t plant and depart. Instead, they engage with local organisations, farmers and communities as co-owners of each project and maintain rigorous post-planting monitoring and audits. They deploy over 450 different native or non-invasive species, chosen on a case-by-case basis based on soil, climate, biodiversity goals and local relevance.
The organisation partners with over 1,500 businesses, including the Ministry of Justice, The Economist, Bupa and Marriott, integrating tree planting directly into business models. Through its mobile app, anyone can plant trees for free in under a minute by simply watching ads. What sets it apart is the gamification: users build streaks, climb leaderboards and track their personal impact in real time. This competitive, social and rewarding experience has already driven more than 250,000 downloads across the UK and Ireland – making climate action engaging, measurable and habit-forming.
