The Plowden Building, reopened in August 2025, has scooped the top prize for LBS at this year’s Education Property Awards.
London Business School’s Plowden Building, redesigned by TODD Architects, has been awarded ‘Higher or Further Education Project of the Year’ at this year’s Education Property Awards, which recognise innovative projects, organisations and individuals in the built environment.
The redesigned Plowden Building now serves as the beating heart of the School’s campus; a place for students, staff and visitors to meet, learn and recharge.
Choosing it as their winner, the judges said, “This entry shows how the power of intelligent, sustainable interior design can be transformational in the educational environment. The clever use of corridors and public realm, natural light and extra ceiling height in all spaces is particularly impressive, while the internal shared atrium and sculptural staircase are a highlight, with brilliant connection to adjacent spaces.”
The Plowden Building opened in August 2025 after a year of extensive renovations. The project was supported by donors motivated to support LBS’s inspirational campus spaces and through gifts to the LBS Fund.
