The reopening of the Plowden Building

Ready to welcome the LBS community, 24-hours a day!

The world of business changes extremely fast, and as a dynamic and agile school, LBS is uniquely placed to innovate. On 21 July, the Plowden Building, a much-loved place on campus for more than 40 years, will reveal its new, state-of-the-art facilities, ready to host the next generation of business leaders, 24-hours a day.

We know that while students’ timetables are fixed, their study hours are not. With catering available at all times in the new Plowden lounge and access to tech-enabled flexible workspaces and breakout zones, this building represents a step-change in how we will connect as a community and reflects our status as a world-class school.

The Plowden Building is strategically located at the heart of our Sussex Place campus and is entirely central to our provision, housing dedicated centres for our services, including Student Wellbeing, Careers and Alumni Careers. Our alumni will have unrestricted access to the spaces within Plowden, facilitating lifelong relationships and the continuous learning that is so important for success in life and business.

Many LBS alumni have already chosen to inspire our community and name spaces at the School. There are rooms still available in the Plowden Building that you may wish to visit to explore how your name can be featured. For more information, or to arrange a tour, get in touch with the Campaign team by email at campaign@london.edu. Alternatively, you could choose to make your mark on campus by engraving your name on The Thread, a sculpture that will be installed in the Quad outside the Plowden Building in the Autumn. Enquire about The Thread before July 2025.

Watch the video below to learn more about the Plowden Building and what it means to the School community.
